No tour to Western Australia is complete without a visit to the fine, old port town of Fremantle with its beautifully-restored, early colonial, late Victorian and Edwardian buildings. Leaving Perth, the tour follows the meandering course of the Swan River on its way to the Indian Ocean through the suburbs of Nedlands, Claremont, Peppermint Grove and Mosman Park passing luxury, millionaire residences, scenic public parklands and several yacht clubs, all with magnificent Swan River views.
On arriving in Fremantle, an orientation tour featuring the port's main attractions give you the opportunity to decide how you will spend your free time. The tour includes Monument Hill, Fremantle Prison, Fishing Boat Harbour, Shipwrecks Gallery, Round House, Maritime Museum, the Fremantle Markets and the "Cappuccino Strip". At the conclusion of the introductory tour, you may wish to experience life "behind bars" at the Round House, marvel over maritime relics and tales of mutiny, courage and bravery at the Maritime Museum or Shipwrecks Gallery, browse the Fremantle Markets (week-ends only) or simply sit back with freshly brewed coffee and cake on the "Cappuccino Strip" or freshly cooked fish and chips on the Fishing Boat Harbour and watch the passing parade.
Rejoin your coach for a short drive to Victoria Quay to board the boat for the return cruise to Perth. This afternoon you will enjoy the hospitality of Captain Cook Cruises. Sit back and relax, be entertained by the Captain's lively commentary on the Swan River, have complimentary coffee/tea and biscuits and sample some Western Australian wines. On your arrival at the Barrack Street Jetty, Perth, your friendly Coach Captain will be there to greet you and transport you back to your City accommodation.
